After you have watched the video, discuss with your partner some of the new things you have learned. Answer the following questions in your science eJournal.

  1. How long do the changes take?
  2. Where do the babies live?
  3. Where do the adults live?
  4. Do the babies eat different things than the adults?
  5. Which of these animals are vertebrate/invertebrate?
  6. What's the difference between complete and incomplete metamorphosis?

Print out the following pictures and cut along the dotted lines to create flash cards. With your partner, arrange the cards so they represent the correct sequence of life cycle changes for each animal. Click on the caterpillar below for a PDF of these images.
